Sparkling Moscow Mule

Moscow Mule Cocktail Recipe

Try this refreshing twist on the traditional Moscow Mule. A pitcher of these cocktails is guaranteed to impress your guests!

What is in a Moscow Mule?

The Moscow Mule is traditionally served in a copper mug or copper cup on the rocks with ginger beer, vodka and fresh lime juice. Due to the popularity of the Moscow Mule as a drink, there have been variations created in that past couple years using different alcohols from Tequila (creating the Mexican Mule), Spiced Rum (creating the Jamaican Mule), and Bourbon (creating the Kentucky Mule). This variation is for the wine lover and uses sparkling wine, creating a Sparkling Moscow Mule.

How to Make a Moscow Mule

This bubbly mule cocktail is delicious and so easy to make, with just a few ingredients. Check your local wine store for a sparkling wine recommendation and you’re ready to mix up a pitcher of Moscow mule cocktails.

Ingredients

  • One bottle sparkling wine
  • ½ cup ginger beer
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Ice
  • Lime wedges
  • Mint sprigs

Directions

Step 1:

In a pitcher, add one bottle of sparkling wine.

Step 2:

Add Ice.

Step 3:

Slowly pour in ginger beer, mixing as you pour.

Step 4:

Squeeze in fresh lime and add mint springs.

Step 5:

Serve in copper mugs with a stirring rod (optional, but recommended).

It doesn’t need to served in a copper mug- in fact, it tastes good in any type of glass. It’s also commonly  served in a lowball glass or Ball jar, but we think it’s fun to break out the wine glasses when we want to take a break from the distinctively chilling nature of the copper mugs.
