At over 20 years old, it’s remarkably youthful and reaching its beautifully mature peak. Expect perfumed aromas of black currant and fig, plus toasty oak and baking spice from 18 months in fine French oak barrels. The palate is ripe and voluptuous, offering rich dried fruit flavors, harmonious tannins and a lengthy, complex finish.
Be advised that the cork might be crumbly—a totally natural feature in a mature wine like this. If it breaks, simply decant the wine, slowly rotating the bottle to catch the cork pieces in the shoulder. Decanting the wine will also help unleash its full aroma and flavor complexity.
